Burswood Entertainment Complex is a registered training organisation, which means you'll be learning from some of the best in the business and develop skills that are recognised around the world. The best part is we'll train you on the job.
Catering and Entertainment Training
Get paid, receive FREE training and have fun doing it. That's the motto of our Catering and Entertainment (C&E) training programmes, designed to support our wait staff, bar tenders and other service staff.
We are not always looking for experience, we want people who have a passion for service and who want to work in a dynamic environment. Plus, we will provide you with accredited training.
Our Skills Training Sessions give our C&E staff the foundations to work in a diverse range of outlets, as well as customer service training. All of this is provided in a fun and casual setting.
ExperienC&E helps new C&E staff build confidence in their first three months at Burswood, providing the inside scoop on amenities, staff and our customers. The premise is simple: start small, and then build up your skills partnered with experienced buddies.
Croupier Schools
Croupiers have one of the most exciting jobs at Burswood. Wouldn't you be happy if you played games for a living? And to make sure our 'Croups' are the best in Australia (best in the world, in our opinion), we provide them with nationally accredited training and a Certificate III in Hospitality (Table Games).
Our initial Croupier training schools go for three weeks, after which you've got skills that could take you anywhere in the world. Check out some of the highlights in the life of a new Croupier:
Day 1 - Today was an orientation day, I met the rest of the Croupiers-to-be. They're a fun bunch and we got along really well. Everybody was excited to be working at Burswood. The staff gave us a tour and the place is sooooo big. They showed us the staff canteen, and I had a huge plate of food. Best thing was it was free!
Day 2 - We started learning the skills of a Croupier today, it's not as easy as it looks. I am learning Blackjack which is great, cos I've always loved playing it. It could have been Roulette or another Casino game, but I can learn them later on. I love the thought that I'll be a Blackjack specialist, not many people can say that.
Day 4 - Chips, chips and more chips. No, not to eat, we've been learning to handle and count chips this week and I can now officially say I'm a chipping machine. If somebody wins on Perfect Pairs, I can cut a winning stack and have it to the player before you can say "double down".
Day 6 - Getting there! I can now deal almost a complete game: doubling, splitting, insurance. I never realised there was so much to it. I'm starting to feel like I can really do this.
Day 8 - We got our uniforms today. I'm looking good and it makes me feel like I'm part of the team!
Day 12 - What a rush! Today was my first time live-dealing to real customers in the Casino. I had my supervisor there to keep an eye on me and it was great. I used all the skills I'd learnt over the past two weeks.
Day 15 - I've completed my course and now I'm a professional Croupier. I'm going to play games for a living, how cool is that? I can't wait to start learning all the other table games here too; it's going to be so much fun.
